There is an old saying, “You need to get out more often.” I use the line when people applaud something silly. It is a set up, and someone applauds 99.9% of the time.

I believe that is also true for our creativity. If you sit in front of a screen all day, your creativity drains. I’ve been guilty of that. You end up seeing the ideas and creativity of others. Your mind starts thinking along those lines. Next thing you know, you are only morphing the ideas of others.

Comedy comes from life experiences. As does confidence. You need to do the things you want to talk about in your act. Not just watch them on TV.

The more you do, the more experiences you have to draw upon. Your mind stays sharp. You’ve got a larger pool of knowledge you can tap. It will show up in everything you create.

So today, try doing something new. I challenge you!
