The Importance Of Review

There is a site called MasterClass.com.

One day as I was looking through FaceBook, an advertisement popped up. They were offering a comedy writing course by Steve Martin.

If you aren’t familiar with Steve Martin, you should be. He was one of my idols. I loved his comedy. I memorized his albums as a kid. He was one of the reasons I became involved in comedy. (The other being Robin Williams.)

The MasterClass was $90.

A no-brainer to learn from a brilliant comedian.

I write comedy for a living. Why would I take this class? Because you should never stop growing and learning. When you do, the world keeps moving forward and you begin to slide backwards.

This is true in every aspect of life.

That is why it surprises me so many people think “I know this stuff.” And shut the door on learning. One new idea or one different perspective may be the key to explosive growth.

But it isn’t enough just to move forward. Sometimes we move too fast. We miss or forget things that we learned. We relax on the things that got us to this point.

That is why I also am an advocate of the review. I love to go back and read old lessons of the Maher Course of Ventriloquism. I go back and watch video lessons of the courses I’ve purchased years ago.

On MaherStudios.com and Learn-Ventriloquism, you can too. You don’t have to hunt for and dig out a DVD, just log in and watch.

The more you open your mind, the more you learn and review, the better you will be. As a person and a ventriloquist.
