Have you ever seen somebody not motivated about their job or jobs? It really is a sad thing to watch people go through their lives complaining that this or that “wasn’t fair”. They can’t make progress with their ventriloquism; they can’t figure out how to get enough shows to go full time and leave their “day job”; they just aren’t happy and it shows up in their performances, when they get a chance to do a show

In the immortal words of Benjamin Franklin, “God helps those who help themselves!”. In other words, it take motivation on YOUR part to get things going, to do the practicing and rehearsing it takes to be your best. No one is going to do it for you. You MUST figure out a way to make the magic happen in your own life.

I once had someone call me and ask ‘Where do I get a puppet as funny as Jeff Dunham’s puppets?”. I didn’t want to appear rude, but I had to gently explain to this vent want-to-be that Jeff could virtually pick up ANY puppet and make it work. That comes from years of hard work, determination, and practice.   No one did it for Jeff, he EARNED his own way by being motivated.

Can you be the next “Jeff Dunham”? Perhaps. But you have to do all the things Jeff did to get to the top and stay there. Jeff is motivation in action!   The same holds true for Terry Fator, and hundreds of other working professional ventriloquists. It’s a long process, but if you stay motivated the sky is the limit!!
