I am so happy for the opportunity to get back together as a Vent family.
Most of my business dried up when the pandemic hit, and events were canceled. When it ended, many of my customers, which were seniors’ homes, no longer had an entertainment budget and could not hire me. When all of this happened, I had just retired after 50 years on radio and TV.
At the time, I had three books on Amazon, one of which told the story of how I became a ventriloquist, complete with pictures of me and Terry Fator called, “I’ll puke in your pocket!” and they were not selling, either.
What to do? Seniors needed entertainment. At the last ConVENTION in Las Vegas, someone told us every tenth show should be free, so I offered my services for free, provided I could have a merch table to sell my books. It worked and has ever since.
Last year, I had 36 shows and sold over 500 books. At that same seminar, we were told, “If they like you, they will want to take a piece of you home with them.”
How true.
Here are photos of that last class in Vegas, one of my puppets, OZ, and my books.
I have many more stories about getting bookings (I am booked until June), and I look forward to share them.

Thanks so much for the update Bob! I’ll look forward to hearing more about your shows!
